With its wavetables-clusters of samples-users could scan across the waveforms like a drone flying over mountainous terrain, with the machine interpolating smoothly between samples. ![]() First developed by Wolfgang Palm and released in the form of the PPG Wave series in the early 80s, it allowed electronic musicians to add an element of ‘reality’ to their songs thanks to its ability to play sampled waveforms. ![]() Who could have guessed it?
